On Friday, February 19, 2010 Sussex County Federal Credit Union welcomed Girl Scout Troop 595 to the Seaford branch. Co-leader Cindy Hill and two of her scouts, Skyler Bailey and Breanna Messick, set-up a table in the branch lobby with boxes of cookies to the delight of Sussex County FCU members and staff.
Girls Scout Cookies are a familiar part of American history for over 80 years! All of this started in 1933 with the Girl Scouts of Greater Philadelphia Council who baked and sold cookies in the city's gas stations and the electric company windows. The cookies sold for just twenty-three cents a box!
Possum Point Players' spring musical is the 2001 Broadway sensation "Urinetown." Since she has done it for nearly every PPP show since 2000, it may be difficult for some people to imagine what type of specialty drink, Nita Gary will create for this show.
Nita is the lovely, some say zany, lady who has volunteered her time at just about every Possum Point Players show for many years. Many will remember Nita as the actress who played Mrs. Paroo in "Music Man", Mrs. Baker in "Butterflies Are Free" and she was even a Hot Box Girl in PPP's first production of "Guys and Dolls" in 1984!

The Ronald McDonald Room provides temporary housing for families with sick infants receiving care in the Bayhealth Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Despite the weather that threatened to cancel the event, teams showed up at the Milford Bowling Lanes to support the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Girls Night Out Bowling Event. The Chamber contingent, Executive Director, Karen Duffield, along with Joan Tyndall of Sergovc & Carmean and Brenda Whitehurst of YWCA show off their scores.
