Neil Simon, one of America's most prolific writers of popular comedies, authored "I Ought to Be in Pictures", now showing at Possum Point Players. Tickets for January 29, 30 and 31 are available by calling the Possum ticketline at 302/856-4560.

Neil Simon's comedies are always popular. "We try to select light, fun shows for dinner theater so that people can bring groups of family and friends," said Mary Cahill of Georgetown, the Executive Administrator of Possums, "This is light and fun, but in this case I wouldn't recommend it for young children."

This one is about a teenage girl who goes to spend time with her father in Hollywood, in the hopes of getting into movies. Director Tom Sweeny of Lewes is thrilled with his cast. "The cast is outstanding. They really bring it to life!" he said. The cast of three includes Audrey Fisher Killen of Roxana as daughter Libby, Jim Killion of Lewes as Herb, and Kim Klabe of Rehoboth Beach as Steffy, Herb's girlfriend.

This show isn't as uproarious as some Simon comedies, adding poignant father-daughter moments, and telling a tale of a tenuous connection between the three people involved. "I Ought to Be in Pictures" is about family, and uses humor and tenderness to bring the audience into this all-too-common situation. Fisher-Killen says of her character, Libby, "She goes to Hollywood looking for one thing, but what she finds is something totally different."

Possum dinner theaters take place in the warm environment of Possum Hall. Those attending the dinner-theater production will be treated to a four-course dinner prior to the show. Dinner includes tomato basil soup, California salad, roasted pork loin with apple sauce, roasted red-skinned potatoes, broccoli, rolls with butter, dessert, coffee and tea. Reservations are required for dinner-theater. For those unable to make dinner, show only tickets are available for $20.00
