Possum Point Players will be holding open auditions for the fall production of "An Inspector Calls" by J.B. Priestley. Auditions will be taking place on July 19th and 20th at Possum Hall in Georgetown.
"An Inspector Calls" takes place in a family's home in an English city, in 1910. In this psychological mystery, the visiting inspector illuminates ways the family's lives interact with those around them - ways they may not have noticed. Under pressure, the family members react in varied ways. Director George Spillane returns to the helm with this show. Previous directing credits with Ad Hoc include It's a Wonderful Life, Wuthering Heights and others. Directing credits at Milton Theatre include Glass Menagerie and Cemetery Club. Previous to moving to Delaware, Spillane directed frequently at Widener University. Recent acting credits include "The Little Foxes" and "A Diary of Anne Frank" among many others.
The cast calls for three women and four men: a mature couple, their ingénue daughter, and two men in their 20s-early 30s, and the inspector and maid, who can be any age. The auditions will be held at Possum Hall in Georgetown, at 6:30 p.m. on July 19 and 20. Auditioners are asked to come prepared to do cold readings from the script, but no monologues are necessary. Performance dates are October 2, 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11. Cast members must be prepared to commit to these full weekends, and the week prior to opening.
