We offer comprehensive eye examinations for the whole family including glasses, contact lenses, treatment of eye diseases, and post-operative management.

It's more than just an eye exam...

A routine eye exam for all ages, on a regular basis, is strongly recommended. The testing of children's vision is especially important. We recommend regular examinations after the age of three to monitor their development. We want to assure clear vision and early detection of conditions which may adversely affect learning. Adults require yearly examinations to monitor for changes in their eyes such as: cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and other age related diseases. It is especially important for people with diabetes to have yearly eye examinations, as diabetes is one of the leading causes of blindness. Our participation with most insurances including Medicare helps to keep your costs down.

Your examination at Sussex Eye Center may include tests for the following:

• Personalized case history

• Slit lamp and fundus exam for diseases of the eye

• Near and far visual acuity

• Blood pressure

• Visual fields

• Tonometry for glaucoma

• Retinal photography

• Laser imaging of the optic nerve and retina   (OCT and GDX) for glaucoma and retinal disease

• Tonography for glaucoma

Diagnosis and Treatment of Eye Diseases

We treat eye problems including, but not limited to, conjunctivitis, eye infections, and glaucoma. We also diagnose a wide variety of eye diseases including cataracts, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. We also remove foreign bodies from the eye.

Contact Lenses

We offer the latest technology in contact lens care including the lenses with the highest oxygen transmissibility. These high oxygen contacts are FDA approved for overnight wear. Our offices place an emphasis on providing you with the latest in contact lens care. Dr. Sprague is a residency trained contact lens specialist.

Eyewear

A complete eyewear service is available at Sussex Eye Center. All materials, frames and lenses, are made of the best quality and come with an exclusive 2 year warranty. We offer reasonably priced popular and designer frames. Quality lens materials are available with features for comfort and eye protection such as transitions, ultraviolet protection, scratch resistant coatings, anti-reflective treatment, and polarization. Minor adjustments are available at your convenience, free of charge, for our patients. Minor repairs can be done for a nominal fee. We are happy to fill your eyeglass prescriptions even if you haven't been examined at Sussex Eye Center.

LASIK

We provide consultations and pre/post operative management for LASIK.
