The non-profit Rehoboth Theatre of the Arts wins 3 top awards at the Eastern States Regional One Act Play competition held on May 9, 2010 at Chapel Street Playhouse in Newark, DE.
The competition was fierce this year with 15 play entries from the states of Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, and Delaware. However, the Rehoboth Theatre of the Arts was able to take top prize in three categories, one being First Place for the best Original Work for its entry Midnight Train to George. This top prize was followed by winning the award for Outstanding Achievement in Ensemble Acting in the play Midnight Train to George by actresses Audrey Fisher Killen of Dagsboro and Jenn Stutzman of Milford.
In addition, the playwright Matt Casarino, of Wilmington, won the award for Outstanding Achievement in Playwriting for his play Midnight Train to George.
This was the first year for the Rehoboth Theatre of the Arts to enter the contest and they are thrilled to have earned three awards. The play was directed by Tom Sweeny and produced by Ches Warrener both of Lewes.
