The non-profit Rehoboth Beach Theatre of the Arts is pleased to announce the winning plays of its 1st Annual One Act Play Festival that took place on Friday, February 26 and Saturday, February 27, 2010.
First place winner was Last Train To George, an original work written by Delaware playwright Matt Casarino, and featured actresses Audrey Fisher Killen of Frankford and Jenn Stutzman of Milford. Second place winner was Monkey Rhythms by John Baldi, and featured actors George Spillane, Tom Sweeny, and Isaiah Dadzie of Lewes.
The first and second place winners will now compete in the 68th annual Delaware Theatre Association's (DTA) competition scheduled for Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the Everett Theatre located in Middletown, DE. Ticket prices are $15 for an Adult all day pass, $12 for Senior and Student all day pass, and $10 for One Session. There will be 8 plays competing for the title of best One Act play for the state of Delaware. The play that wins the competition then moves on to compete in the regional Eastern States Theatre Association in May 2010 at Chapel Street Players in Newark, DE.
