The Greater Georgetown Chamber of Commerce will continue to recognize its exceptional members with Small Business of the Year Awards in 2016.
Three organizations that excel in the areas of business and growth, community involvement, customer service, excellence in industry, innovation and staff training and motivation will be recognized at the Chamber’s Installation of Officers and Awards Luncheon in December.
Nominees for Business of the Year categories must be members of the Greater Georgetown Chamber of Commerce in good standing, in operation for a minimum of two years, and show social responsibility and exemplify strong community involvement. Applicants can apply in one of the following categories:
Business of the Year, Nonprofit of the Year and Trailblazer (business in existence less than two years). There is no application fee and self-nominations are encouraged.
“We have an amazing membership, and we’re constantly being inspired by the commitment and excellence shown by so many of our members,” said John Rieley, Past President of the Chamber and current Board Director. “We want to celebrate their accomplishments and their important community contributions.”
In order to better focus on the importance of these awards, the winners will be recognized at a special Chamber Luncheon, which will also feature the Installation of the Chamber's new Board of Directors for 2017. We have traditionally held Installations and award ceremonies at our annual holiday parties, said Executive Director, Karen Duffield. “While it’s always been a festive and fun occasion, we think these programs deserve a bit more formality and a platform of their own. So, a wonderful luncheon will be planned in December that will celebrate our incoming 2017 Officers and Directors, and our 2016 Businesses of the Year
Award winners will receive promotional opportunities including a trophy to display in their place of business, mention in the Chamber’s newsletters, inclusion in the Chamber’s website and a press release distributed to regional media. Last year, the Chamber presented awards to BUSINESS LEADER, Mercantile Processing; NONPROFIT LEADER, CHEER, Inc. and TRAILBLAZER, Lighthouse Catering.
Organizations and businesses that have applied in the past but have not yrt been recognized, are eligible and encouraged to reapply. Applications will be available for download in October, or you can email [email protected].
